Dr. Suzanne J. Smith, VMD

Dr. Suzanne Smith is a graduate of University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine.  She Received her Bachelor of Arts degree at Wellesley College in Massachusetts.  Dr. Smith has been involved in the veterinary community as a former President of the NJ Veterinary Medical Association.  She founded the New JerseyAnimal Hall of Fame.  She has served as Chair of the NJ University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine Alumni Society and she served several years on their Admission Committee.  Additionally, Dr. Smith has serves in the past on committees of the American Association of Equine Practitioners. Dr. Smith was a member of NJ Governor’s Lyme Disease Advisory Committee.  She served several terms of the Executive Board of Mane Stream, a therapeutic riding center, in Oldwick, NJ. Dr. Smith has spent the last ten years involved in NAVS (Native American Veterinary Services) as a veterinary volunteer on several of the poorer reservations in the Southwest performing surgical procedures and providing veterinary care for horses and small animals. As part of her efforts in NAVS she dedicated time mentoring and teaching veterinary and pre-veterinary students in New Mexico and Arizona.

Dr. Anne Pierok, DVM

Dr. Anne Pierok has been with Spring Mills for approximately three years, doing routine small animal medicine appointments on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.  She graduated from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986.  She also does Wellness Clinic work on dogs and cats at Hillside’s People for Animals.  She has worked in several small animal emergency-related issues.  Dr. Pierok’s other veterinary interests include cardiology, neurology, geriatric, and home hospice care, and infectious disease control. Dr. Pierok currently takes care of her wild and crazy geriatric Parson Russell Terrier who has congestive heart disease, and his new buddy, a Pekingese-Japanese Chin mixed breed.  All of her pets have come from various shelters or pounds, and she is a strong advocate for people to shop around for their next pet at a shelter or pound.
